I have worked at several software companies, occupying roles in user support, QA, training, and documentation, and becoming a product specialist. I am also certified to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) and have taught ESL to adults at a couple of academic institutions. As part of my transition into technical communication, I recently completed an undergraduate technical communication certificate program. Additionally, I have acquired the Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) credential and the Microsoft Office Specialist: Microsoft Word Expert (Word and Word 2019) credential. I am currently looking for a job in technical communication. Please see my sample projects below.

HANG TAG: IMPORTANT ERGONOMIC SAFETY TIPS

April 2020

This is a project I did in the STC (Society for Technical Communication) TechComm Fundamentals Bootcamp course. The purpose of the content is to help prevent people from getting avoidable injuries while using the client's chairs. This would also reduce liability and avoid potential lawsuits, as well as enhance users' experiences. The deliverable is intended to be a laminated 8"x10" hang tag attached to the chair's back. The content also would be duplicated in the chair's assembly instructions/user guide. The users could file the tag for future reference, or display it at their workstation as a reminder of proper ergonomics. View project.

EDUCATIONAL WEBSITE: AMERICAN ENGLISH VS. BRITISH ENGLISH

May 2020

This is a project I did in the Organization and Development of Online Documents course that is part of Montgomery College's technical writing certificate program. As part of this assignment, I also created and updated a publication plan that addressed the budget, scheduling, and design. By following my publication plan, I created the following website from my research on the differences between American English and British English. View project.
